Nowadays anyone interested in this kind of fishing can enjoy endless variety of excellent gear available for sale. Surely, fly fishing equipment won't
replace skills and knowledge but if you are a wise fly fisherman you'll try to purchase the best gear you can find. Here is my advice - try to use some
kind of reels and roles, rented at quality shop and after that you can buy the better gears that will match your skills and knowledge. If you are going to

I feel the same way. I've only done one float trip in my three years of fly fishing, and to tell everyone the truth, I thought I overpaid by about $400 for the trip. Granted the trip was only $400, but it really wasn't worth it. You never get the chance to really work a seam, work on making a great cast, or get to really be at one with the river. I don't like the idea of a guide that can't seem to pick good flies(on my trip, the guide picked out about a dozen flies, which I had to pay for and...

I took a fall in the drink of Rock Creek today (5/27/05) and lost my rod and reel. Went to college in Butte and was fortunate to fish all the great streams in the area, which are plentiful. When I discovered Rock Creek in the spring, and happened to hit the March Brown hatch, I was hooked. It suddenly became very difficult to attend my classes.
